v24.04

What’s new?

Registration configuration

System administrators can define a specific OU they want a device to go to at point of registration.

This feature requires the application to support it. System administrators are advised to check release notes of the application/version to confirm support.

Device recovery

System administrators can reset device back to ‘Registered’ provisioning state, meaning the device will be de-provisioned, but not de-registered. The device will retain all other associations (Organisational Unit, Policies, Security Groups, etc.).

This feature requires the application to support it:

  • Application using the v24.06 versions (and beyond) of the SDKs should be able to automatically re-provision.

  • Devices based on older versions of the SDKs placed into this state will need to be manually re-provisioned. It is not advisable to place any such devices into this state unless there is a manual provisioning mechanism built in.

System administrators are advised to check release notes of the application/version to confirm support.

What’s changed?

SDK updates

The SDKs will be updated with the following changes for this release:

  • Updates to support ‘Registration configuration’ feature.

  • Updates to support ‘Device recovery’ feature.

  • Security updates and bug fixes.

These changes will be released in the next SDK release version (v24.06, date tbc). Customers wishing to take advantage of these features in the meantime should raise a request through the customer portal.

Partners and customers are advised to incorporate the latest SDK release into their apps and services as soon as practicable.

Minor changes:

  • Branding for user invitation and administration emails.

  • Branding changes to login page to ensure consistency with email invites.

  • Invitation link expiry extended to 48 hours.

Known Issues

  • QC-2901 (QCPI/PaaS) Python SDK does not currently support Python v3.11.  Support will be added in a future release. SDK developers are advised to use v3.10 of Python in the interim.
